Describing Karla and Pete’s wedding in a blog post doesn’t seem to do justice to the incredible magic that surrounded it. In fact, I believe it might be my favorite wedding to date.
I begin this chapter by introducing the day’s protagonist, Karla, who shone with the kind of radiance that only she could possess. She wore a headpiece in the style of Frida Kahlo, adorned with beautiful Mexican-colored flowers from Floristry by Main Event Cabo. Her makeup was natural and elegant, skillfully done by Blanc Bridal Salon. Throughout the day, Karla graced us with the beauty of three stunning bridal gowns.
The first gown she wore was for the “first look,” a vintage design that had belonged to her aunt and had been worn on her own wedding day. The second was a boho-chic dress that perfectly suited the circular ceremony, and the third was a modern silk dress, elegantly suited for Cabo’s climate. To add a modern touch, she opted for a denim jacket to keep warm during the festivities and cover herself from the evening breeze.
The groom, Pete, who was undoubtedly another star of the evening, chose a modern purple suit adorned with patterns that blended a sense of antiquity and modernity through its color.
Karla’s getting ready process was surrounded by her family and close friends. Without a doubt, the most heartwarming surprise was finding a little kitten named Nash on her bed. Nash was a part of the Acre Resort family, the venue for this enchanting wedding. Karla’s joy at having Nash there was evident; after all, she has two adorable cats whose names even inspired the names of some cocktails at the wedding. Nash’s presence was a manifestation of their love and a way of being present on this special day.
The ceremony can be described in a single word: unique. It was held in a circular setting, with only the bride and groom standing in the middle on a carpet that symbolized their home and union. During the ceremony, family members recited poems by their favorite authors. As this unfolded, two magnificent peacocks, belonging to the venue, strolled around the garden. The energy of this moment was indescribable, a palpable manifestation of the love between the family and Karla and Pete, and vice versa.
The reception was incredibly fun, infused with a distinct Mexican flair. The LED sign reading “Til Death Do Us Party” added a uniquely original touch to the festivities. This wedding was expertly coordinated by the unparalleled Karla Casillas & Co. The decoration, handled by The Main Event Cabo, was exquisite. Music played an integral role in the wedding, with guests dancing from the moment it started playing; of course, this was masterfully curated by our friend, DJ Alexander Ayala.
Undoubtedly, the highlight of the evening (and perhaps the entire wedding, in my personal opinion) was when Pete surprised Karla and the guests by serenading her acapella with a song he had composed. There wasn’t a dry eye in the room; it was an emotional and touching moment. The connection between Karla and Pete was evident in the way they looked at each other during this special performance.
I hope you can relive this magical wedding through the video we’re sharing below. Thank you for accompanying us thus far; we’ll see you in our upcoming Cabowedding narrative.
